Let me start off by saying, you may see some crafts on this site, but not many that I've made myself. This is me: I have an idea, drop EVERYTHING to rush to Joann's to pick up supplies, spend more than I thought, stay up until midnight or one for the next two nights. While giving up shut eye for crafting I'm quickly losing patients. I don't have the patience to measure, dig for the sharp scissors or pull out the iron. Needless to say the end result is less than thrilling and when I add up the money and time, I realize I could make about $1 an hour if I tried to sell it. Another scenario is that or I'm trying to hot glue a flower on the hat while simultaneously feeding my son and emptying the dishwasher. That being said, I respect all crafters that can pull it off and I appreciate well executed crafts. If you're a crafter I would consider highlighting anything homemade on this site. Leave me a comment.
I love making things with felted sweaters. Basically, you buy a wool sweater from a resale store, wash it in really hot water and put it in the dryer. It's so easy to work with and it doesn't fray. It's great for all types of projects.
For the change purse I used the sweater sleeve so most of it was already constructed and I didn't have to sew much
Tuck in the bottom evenly and stitch along the bottom edge.
Cut about 30 clover shapes out of the felt. Start at the bottom and lay three in a row. Put a basic cross stitch through each clover with embroidery floss. Follow with two above and then another three.

(also works well as a phone case or sunglass holders)
