Better Late Than Never

This is what we've been working on all summer, just in time for Labor Day Weekend!  It's kind of a drag that we didn't get to enjoy it all summer, but we're all really excited for our Fall barbecues and bonfires!  First, we ripped out a smaller concrete patio and my husband and his friend put down this beautiful slate patio.  Next we had the pergola built and stained.  Hopefully when the wisteria grows it will provide us some much needed shade.  We replaced some of the boards on our picnic table and repainted it green.  Finally, we added a little landscaping and brought out some indoor furniture to warm it up.  Even the bonfire pit gets a little attention with a painted table, bench and some flowers.

The comfortable seating came from Costco and I recovered the pillows.  It came with really boring brown and gold pillows and I wanted to add a punch.  I love how versatile it is - we separate it when we're having people over, but most of the time we push it together and all lay on it with a comfy blanket and some books.  The accent table and two wicker chairs came from the Utica Antique market.  The chairs and table are a little more contemporary, they keep it all from being too "pretty".

Finally, I've been having fun with more unique planters and growing flowers in my "cutting garden".  The flowers you see above are all from my landscaping.  I also love the wagon planter below.

Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
